What is Denim for a Cure?

THE BACKGROUND

Meet Josher. He has done some pretty amazing things in his life. For example, he did a little something called losing half his body weight through running!

Amazing, right?

THE CAMPAIGN

Unfortunately, his mom has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and he just began a campaign to raise money for the Huntsman Cancer Institute through Huntsman Hometown Heros. JoggingJeans.com has teamed up with Josher to launch…

Josher first pledged that if he could raise $1000, he would run the Salt Lake City Half Marathon on April 21, 2012 in denim.

And in under one week all the money was raised. You really came through and overwhelmed us with your generosity and kindness. So we  saw Josher in Salt Lake City in head-to-toe denim here.

But then Josher upped the ante and continued to raise funds. Here is a fraction of the things he’s done:

1. On the day Josher’s mom had her mastectomy, April 9, 2012, he encouraged everyone to pack a lunch and donate the $5 that you would have spent on lunch to help fight cancer. We asked that, as you donate your lunch money, you keep his mom and every cancer survivor, fighter, and victim in your thoughts and prayers that day. $370 was raised. Bam!

2. During the month of May, he hosted a virtual 5K.

3. He hosted the Pink Donut Half Marathon in July.

All in all, he ran 17 races in denim in 2012 – a 5K, a 10K, 15 half marathons and a marathon. He also is planning to run all his 2013 races in denim. Check out his new Denim for a Cure website.
