That is a lot of water for your 45 minute workout

Here are two of my MANY gym-related pet peeves:

1) People that wear jeans in the weight room section of the gym (no surprises there, huh?).

2) Guys* that carry around water in a gallon milk jug.

Today’s picture, thanks to Nikko, captures both.

* I’ve never seen a girl do this. Have you?

  1. I have a confession to make: I was at the gym a couple of days ago and say this guy in jeans AND jean jacket on treadmill. Now, however bold and daring I make myself out to be on this great internet of ours, I am a giant pussy and didn’t snap a picture of him. This was mainly due to my fear that he was armed (in Oklahoma I just assume everyone is armed).

    • But you thought of me, right? That is the most important thing. Oh…and that you didn’t get shot.

  2. I remember seeing that at the gym all the time (i.e. the few times a year I went) in college. Haven’t people ever heard of water toxicity??

    Big truck syndrome?

  4. This kids outfit is clearly saying “I’m too cool to be here”, he’s the kind of hipster I hate.

  5. Most of the time when someone is carrying that much water it’s because they are training for some kind of competition. I’ve only personally seen 2 women doing it -and it was within a month of a figure competition.

They want to make sure they are drinking the required gallon (or two) a day that’s in their program. They don’t want to guess what they drink from a water fountain.

This guy is NOT a figure competitor.

Also, if you’re taking BCAAs (can’t imagine this guy is)… they need to be dissolved in a lot of water!

Judging by his “guns” I assume he’s new to the sport.

  7. ok, let me just make this clear,, if i hit “LIKE” it means that i like what you have shared but not that i like what i saw in what you shared… does that make sense??

Saw my first “gallon jug” guy at the fitness center this evening. He did 3 minutes of “cardio” before hitting the weights.
