People are so creative. That is all.

Running Costumes with Denim – Laverne and Shirley

We continue this week with more race costumes that involve denim.

If Kanye West fans are asking about “newcomer” Paul McCartney, I’m guessing that my young viewers are gonna be all, “Who is Laverne? Who is Shirley?”

Kids, here is your lesson for the day.

Running Costumes with Denim – Hippie

I have said it before: there is no better way to try out jogging in jeans than to run in a denim-inspired costume for your next race. Fortunately for you, I have amassed a large collection of possibilities. Do it. Make it your resolution for 2015. Take pictures and send them to me. Denim

Reason #87 why Chicago is awesome

I am a fan of Chicago and could easily rattle off the 87 reasons why I like it there. But since I know you really don’t care, I will save you needless scrolling and get right to the new reason that was added to my list.

87. Chicagoans, when given the chance, will run in denim.

Evidence is in last month’s Chicago Monster Dash.

Not sure if this is a costume or just a super-cool dude running in jeans:

Not sure if this is a costume either, but running in a dress and a denim jacket equals a whole lot of love from me:

Adorable. No additional words needed:

Wonder if she would have been faster than @DavidRoadRunner without the jorts?

HeroBecause there IS evidence of the real running power of denim. And more here for those of you that still aren’t convinced.

A race with a Jazziest Jorts Award

Trish told me about it. I told you about it. The Canton Liberty Run was held on June 14th. The theme was is “Stars, Stripes, and Jorts.”

Despite my rockin’ cyber searching skilz, I was only able to find a few pictures from the event. Fortunately, they are FABULOUS pictures:

Race Directors! It is TIME for a denim-only run. Contact me. I have a bazillion brilliant ideas swimming around in my head.

Running Costumes with Denim – Winnie the Pooh

One last denim running costume: here is my friend, Dan, at the Youngstown Peace Race as Winnie the Pooh. Check out all the spectators smiling at him. And don’t ask me how in the heck anyone can run a 10K wearing a cloth, full-headed mask.

PoohSpeaking of Dan, he also ran his first 50K (Haulin’ in the Holler) in what he is calling JOHTS (jorts over half tights). I have called tights “cheating” in the past – but I give a pass when you are pulling out a 50K in denim. Can I get an ‘amen’?
